The 5 major release details are:

Welcome to the RTEMS 5 serial of releases.

Status

The RTEMS 5 series is still under development and the current GIT repo master.

The focus of the series is to complete and have SMP mature on selected tier 1 architectures. Combined with the kernel work is the new libbsd networking stack with a current FreeBSD release.
