Description

The corresponding patches from the 5-freebsd-12 branch need to be ported to master.

I got that the 5-freebsd-12 branch will be the libbsd version for RTEMS 5.1. That's why I put the patches there first to make it in time.
My impression was that the 5 branch was created from master with the goal that in a future 5.x release libbsd might be created from this one, once the next FreeBSD version has been officially released.
I wanted to make sure that if that happens, it has the same features as the 5-freebsd-12 branch. The discussion on the mailinglist was a bit confusing, so maybe I got it wrong.

I also have the same impression. We need a release and then we need to look after the branch for a while to understand how this will work. Having the patches on all branches makes it easier and simpler.

This can be resolved for 5.2

Jan please close as won't fix
if this ticket is not important. Thanks.
The RTEMS 5 release is based on the
5-freebsd-12
branch for LibBSD and not the5
branch. Maybe the issue is the5
branch for LibBSD should have been made from5-freebsd-12
and notmaster
.I have adjusted the release scripts to package the
5-freebsd-12
branch for LibBSD as a special case however it has concerned me something is not right and this ticket is now making me wonder if the5
branch referencingmaster
has confused things.
