Description

Trying to run hello.exe with QEMU for BSP lm32/milkymist, fails due to audio driver issue.

qemu-system-lm32 -no-reboot -monitor null -serial stdio -nographic -net none -M milkymist -kernel $HOME/development/rtems/milkymist/lm32-rtems4.12/c/milkymist/testsuites/samples/hello/hello.exe
audio: Could not init `oss' audio driver
Warning: nic milkymist-minimac2.0 has no peer

I have seen this on other qemu, it appears to be a benign warning and not a failure. You can make it disappear by providing an env variable:
QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none qemu-system-lm32 ...

You can also build qemu without audio support. If building qemu I find this lowers the number of dependencies you need removing unwanted driver support.
