Remove All CVS Id Strings Possible Using a Script

Script does what is expected and tries to do it as
smartly as possible.

+ remove occurrences of two blank comment lines

next to each other after Id string line removed.

+ remove entire comment blocks which only exited to

contain CVS Ids

+ If the processing left a blank line at the top of

a file, it was removed.

38 * Echo command.
39 *
40 * echo is steeped in tradition - several of them!
41 * netbsd has supported 'echo [-n | -e] args' in spite of -e not being
42 * documented anywhere.
43 * Posix requires that -n be supported, output from strings containing
44 * \ is implementation defined
45 * The Single Unix Spec requires that \ escapes be treated as if -e
46 * were set, but that -n not be treated as an option.
47 * (ksh supports 'echo [-eEn] args', but not -- so that it is actually
48 * impossible to actually output '-n')
49 *
50 * It is suggested that 'printf "%b" "string"' be used to get \ sequences
51 * expanded.  printf is now a builtin of netbsd's sh and csh.
